Project Overview
Slanted block pairs at the fire-escape stairwell.
Ativo Suites is part of the RM7.6 billion Damansara Avenue masterplan in Bandar Sri Damansara – two high-rise towers totalling 668 service residences. Designed by GDP Architects for TA Global Berhad (via Indo Aman Sdn Bhd), the project won the IDEA Awards 2019 for Best Luxury High-Rise Development and the Asia Pacific Property Awards 2018-2019. PBM supplied a custom pair of slanted blocks – VB 70.195A (upward slant) and VB 70.195B (downward slant) – alternated at the bomba stairwell to combine dynamic façade rhythm with fire-safety ventilation.
Use of PBM Ventilation Blocks
Two uniquely angled ventilation blocks were specially selected for the project:
•VB 70.195A – featuring an upward slanted internal cavity
•VB 70.195B – featuring a downward slanted internal cavity
These blocks were installed primarily at every floor’s bomba stairwell area, offering natural airflow while maintaining safety, privacy, and consistent façade rhythm.
The opposing slants in VB 70.195A and B allow architects to alternate orientation during installation — resulting in a visually dynamic yet practical wall system.
