A single block rotated to compose the entire resort.
Set along the scenic shoreline of Johor, Hard Rock Hotel Desaru Coast combines beachfront luxury with bold architectural energy. The resort’s design integrates musical themes with practical passive design strategies, delivering a lifestyle-focused hotel experience with an edge.
Use of PBM Ventilation Blocks
PBM’s VB 223.100 — a long rectangular block with angled interior surfaces — was used across the project to introduce pattern, ventilation, and light filtering.
🔹 Creative Application:
By laying the blocks vertically, horizontally, and in alternating orientations, the design team was able to craft visual rhythm and textural movement across different zones — from façade walls to walkways and guest areas.

•Corridor facades and privacy screens
•Hanging sun-shading structures
•Entrance walls at each unit
•Stairwell enclosures and poolside fencing
