Product Description —
LK 03 – Specialised drainage block measuring 610 × 305 × 140mm with a distinctive curved face profile. The longest unit in the LK series — suited to drainage channel inlets, transitions between channel sections, or applications with specific water flow geometry requirements.
Application
- Roadside surface drainage channels (longkang)
- Compound and perimeter drainage around residential and commercial properties
- Stormwater drainage channels in townships and developments
- Industrial and warehouse drainage
Key Characteristics
- Four module variants covering standard channel construction, deeper channel sections, and specialised profile geometries
- Standard 390 × 190mm face dimension on most products coordinates with the wider PBM CMU dimensional system for combined construction
- Hollow-cavity design supports reinforcement bar and concrete fill where structural drainage walls require additional load capacity

Installation Notes
- Excavate the drainage channel to design depth and gradient before block laying
- Lay drainage blocks on a compacted aggregate sub-base with 30–50mm cement-sand bedding
- Build channel walls in stretcher bond using 1:3 cement-sand mortar; joints not exceeding 10mm thick with concave finish
- Maintain consistent channel gradient (typically 1:100 to 1:200 for surface drainage) for proper water flow
- Limit block work to a maximum of 5 courses per section in any one day
- Render the internal channel face with cement-sand plaster (typically 12–20mm) for smooth water flow and reduced surface friction
- Cure block work for at least 7 days before introducing water flow
Important specifier note: Coverage areas are calculated based on 10mm mortar joint thickness. A dimensional tolerance of ±3mm should be expected and accommodated in the construction set-out. Efflorescence may occur on any cementitious product, particularly with prolonged water exposure typical of drainage applications — final colour and finish selection should be made from physical product samples rather than website images.
